Wine Tastings | Tours | Pairings | HotelsVineyards of Chile
Vineyards of Chile is a tailor-made experience designed by PlanV® Travel Chile to discover the country through its symbolic vineyards, heritage, terroirs and wineries. Our base program of six days and five nights includes visits to five (5) emblematic wineries located in four (4) valleys with Denomination of Origin in central-southern Chile, selected for their historical, architectural, productive and oenological relevance.
Our experience includes Viña Matetic, in the Rosario Valley, a pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture and wine tourism, with its extensive vineyards, modern winery and exclusive Hotel La Casona; Casas del Bosque, a reference for wines, gastronomy and wine tourism experiences in the Casablanca Valley; the traditional Viña Errázuriz, internationally recognized for its iconic wines and as a symbol of the Aconcagua Valley; Viña Santa Rita, in the Maipo Valley, one of the icons of Chilean wine heritage; and Casa Lapostolle, whose Clos Apalta represents one of the highest expressions of Chilean premium wine and an outstanding representative of the Colchagua Valley.
Based on this proposal, the program can be extended northwards to the valleys of Limarí, Elqui and Huasco, or southwards through Cachapoal, Colchagua, Curicó, Maule, Itata, Biobío and even the Chiloé Archipelago, incorporating new terroirs and oenological experiences according to the interests of each group.
Viña Orgánica Matetic | Casablanca Valley
Viña Matetic was founded in 1999 by the Matetic family in the Rosario Valley and is one of Chile’s pioneers in organic and biodynamic cool-climate viticulture. Its vineyards, located between the Casablanca and San Antonio valleys, are influenced by the Pacific Ocean and grow on ancient granitic soils, conditions that allow the production of wines of great freshness, minerality and elegance.
Its modern winery, designed by Norwegian architect Laurence Odfjell, was conceived with a gravity-flow vinification system that minimizes mechanical intervention and preserves the purest expression of the grape.
The experience is complemented by La Casona Matetic, an exclusive boutique hotel set in a carefully restored colonial house, recognized for its hospitality, high-level gastronomy and one of the most complete wine tourism offerings in Chile.
Matetic produces varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, with labels such as EQ, Corralillo and La Piu Belle standing out. The latter is one of Chile’s iconic wines, recognized both for the quality of its blend and for its labels illustrated by artist Gonzalo Cienfuegos.
Viña Casas del Bosque | Casablanca Valley
Viña Casas del Bosque, founded in 1993 by Juan Cúneo Solari, is one of the most recognized family-owned wineries in the Casablanca Valley and an international reference for cool-climate wines. Its 235 hectares of vineyards, located under the influence of the Pacific Ocean, allow the production of wines of great freshness, elegance and marked minerality.
It produces varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, with lines such as Reserva, Gran Reserva, Single Vineyard Las Dichas and Pequeñas Producciones standing out. Its restaurant Tanino, considered one of the best winery restaurants in Chile, complements the experience with an outstanding gastronomic proposal and seasonal pairings.
Its winery was designed with criteria of energy efficiency and landscape integration, reflecting its commitment to sustainability. It has received important international recognitions, including the Best Of Wine Tourism and Global Winner – Best Of Wine Tourism awards, as well as being included in the prestigious ranking The World’s 50 Best Vineyards, consolidating its position as one of the leading wine tourism destinations in South America.
Viña Errázuriz | Aconcagua Valley
Viña Errázuriz, founded in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errázuriz Valdivieso in Panquehue, Aconcagua Valley, is one of Chile’s most important wine heritage estates. A pioneer in the introduction of fine French grape varieties, it continues today under the direction of the Chadwick-Errázuriz family, consolidating its position as one of the leading producers of premium wines in the New World, with a presence in more than 70 countries.
Its heritage includes the historic Casona Don Maximiano and a modern winery inaugurated in 2010, designed according to principles of sustainability and gravity-flow vinification. In addition to its traditional vineyards in Panquehue, Errázuriz also has vineyards in Aconcagua Costa, where the influence of the Pacific Ocean gives rise to wines of great freshness, elegance and minerality.
Among its most recognized labels are Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve, KAI, La Cumbre, MAX, Las Pizarras and Aconcagua Costa. Its international prestige was consolidated after the historic Berlin Tasting of 2004, when Viñedo Chadwick and Seña surpassed outstanding Bordeaux wines in a blind tasting, marking a milestone in the global recognition of high-end Chilean wine.
Throughout more than 150 years of history, its vineyards and the historic Casona Don Maximiano have welcomed heads of state, members of royalty, prominent business leaders, artists, winemakers and international figures from the worlds of culture and sport. Among these visits, some years ago the winery received Adam Clayton, bassist of the legendary band U2, reflecting the international recognition and prestige achieved by this emblematic estate of Chilean wine heritage.
Viña Santa Rita | Maipo Valley
Viña Santa Rita, founded in 1880 in Alto Jahuel, Maipo Valley, is one of Chile’s most emblematic and historic wineries. A pioneer in the modernization of national winemaking, it is now part of the Santa Rita Estates Group and exports its wines to more than 70 countries.
Its historic heritage includes the Casona Casa Real, a park designed by French landscape architect Guillaume Renner, century-old cellars, the Doña Paula Restaurant and the Andean Museum, forming one of the most important heritage ensembles in Chilean wine tourism. This is also where the story of the celebrated 120 wine was born, inspired by the refuge offered by Paula Jaraquemada to the 120 patriot soldiers she hid in her cellar after the disaster of the Battle of Cancha Rayada.
With vineyards distributed across the Maipo, Casablanca, Leyda, Cachapoal, Colchagua, Curicó and Maule valleys, Santa Rita produces renowned labels such as Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon, Triple C, Pewën de Apalta, Floresta, Medalla Real and the iconic 120. Its ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability and heritage conservation positions it as one of the great references of Chilean winemaking.
Viña Casa Lapostolle | Colchagua Valley
Casa Lapostolle, founded in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle and Cyril de Bournet, is one of the iconic wineries of Chilean premium wine. Inspired by the tradition of the family behind Grand Marnier, it combines French winemaking expertise with Chile’s finest terroirs under the philosophy “French in Essence, Chilean by Birth”.
Its vineyards, located in Apalta, Casablanca and Cachapoal, are cultivated under organic and biodynamic management certified by Demeter. Among its most recognized wines are Clos Apalta, Le Petit Clos, Cuvée Alexandre and Lapostolle Collection, widely praised by international critics.
The heart of the winery is its spectacular gravity-flow cellar in Apalta, excavated into the hillside and considered one of the most impressive works of wine architecture in the world. With a presence in more than 60 countries and recognitions such as Wine Spectator Wine of the Year for Clos Apalta, Casa Lapostolle represents one of the highest expressions of Chilean premium viticulture.
